Employee Awards

Congratulations to the following employees who are our first ever EpicPromise Community and Mountain Award Winners! These individuals are recognized for their commitment to our local communities and for fostering a sustainable environment. The next opportunity to nominate a Vail Resorts employee for either award will be during the 2015-16 ski season.  

undefinedEpicPromise Mountain Award Winners -  Awarded to employees who lead with environmental sustainability, are change agents within their departments and reduce the Company's environmental impact

Northstar - Jen Mader, went above and beyond to create a progressive water quality and monitoring program at Northstar which has sense been adopted at other resort

Corporate - Steven Roselli, takes the concept of everyday action for a more sustainable planet to heart

Eagle County - Chris Burns (Beaver Creek), has a commitment to energy reduction that has helped make critical changes to the base area energy management system 

Summit County - Robert Ortlieb (Keystone), led the change to recycle more than 10,000 plastic ski passes from guests in lift lines this season

Park City - John Pohl, Kathy Monninger, Clark Gallo and Kelly Gallo (Park City), inspired more than 5,000 guests this year by developing the EpicPromise Interpretive Center at Red Pine Lodge, with interactive curriculum around sustainability

South Lake Tahoe - Kelso Carapia (Heavenly), volunteers with the Ski with a Ranger program to teach guests about the local ecosystem

Awarded to employees who illustrate a passion to make a difference in their community, have a continued commitment through donation of time to a cause, and inspire others to give back 

Northstar - Julia Clair, is the voice of EpicPromise in North Lake Tahoe – with employees, in the community and with the resort’s non-profit partners

Corporate - Nancy Vincent, has become a role model for volunteering, Miguel Cardenas (Vail Resorts Retail), set up a reading program for co-workers at a inner-city Denver school and Cam Preuss (GTLC), recorded 500 volunteer hours last year at the Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Station

Eagle County -Wendy Mallas (Seasons), volunteers with many organizations including the Salvation Army, where she rings bells and adopts families during the holidays and is a routine food bank supporter 

Summit County - Andie Shore (Breckenridge), gives back to a local food bank to ensure those less fortunate get at least one healthy meal each week

Park City - Meg Steele (Park City), whose IT support of the Community Foundation's online fundraiser Live PC, Give PC ensures over a million dollars in donations being raised 

South Lake Tahoe - Susan "Riva" Enteen (Heavenly), donated hundreds of hours as a CASA Advocate over the last two years, lifting up the voice of a child in the court system and making sure his wishes are heard and needs are met 

Urban - Scott O'Connor (Afton Alps), leads the voluntary core of Afton Alps Ski Patrol
