In addition to some of the best snow in the world, Breckenridge Ski Resort also boasts a robust recycling program. This includes reducing single-use disposables by providing our guests with other options and installing water bottle filling stations at various on-mountain food courts and at our administration building. We estimate that the filling stations will save an estimated 240,000 disposable bottles and cups from being sent to the landfill each year.
In addition to our recycling efforts on mountain and with our guests, the Breckenridge Ski Patrol reuses its old pads by creating new pad cover replacements. This innovative approach also saves a considerable amount of energy, which would have been used to manufacture the new pads and to ship them to the mountain. The mountain is also re-purposing lift components so new ones do not need to be manufactured. Hats off to our Ski Patrol and everyone else for their "green" thinking!
